Nice to hear that, please write some thougts about it when you get it. I have plans to get one to.

Are you going to use that with your Total DAC?

Are you going to get a ROON license to?

Yes I will use it with the totaldac which is RoonReady. I already tested this using my MacBook AIR and it sounded great although too many dropouts. I was running my Mac over wifi.

The SonicTransporter will be wired into my router using a totaldac Ethernet cable (the one with the ferrite collar) which I already have. I will get an iFi iPower 12v power supply to feed this and will repurpose my Entreq ground cable which is currently connected to my NAS. I might need to swap this for a USB version though since I'm not sure how many RJ45 ports it has, if more than one I will be fine.

The SonicTransport will be plugged into a different mains system anyway but I like to go OTT with these things.  Wink

That's exciting news! So can we assume your Roon trial has been reasonably successful with the totalDac? Would be really interested to hear how you've found it....

I was happy with the SQ. Had a few issues with dropouts when running Roon on my MacBook AIR, with some lasting a few seconds and on reconnection jumping forward to the next track... Also when using the iPad app I found that putting the iPad to sleep would cause the music to stop. I didn't really look into this enough but figured a wired connection would be better. Anyway I've bought an annual licence now so will make this work!

Cool. Looking forward to hearing about the sonicTransporter too....
Hello all.

I will be a new d120 user when it arrives. I've been looking around and trying to put together the best way to implement roon and tidal in my condo. As far as I've gathered, I can run roon server on my hp all in one and then bridge and AIR on a tablet of some sort as a controller of the core (server).........

I am uncommitted at this point as to the tablet I will use and I am open to acquire new hardware to run the core. I would just like to stream wirelessly to the d120. I have maybe 100 flac albums on my hp pavillion 23 hard drive and would mainly listen to tidal hi res music.

Can someone direct me to instructions and options to implement the latest and greatest sounding/operating solution without adding an additional streamer piece of hardware?

Thanks!

Paul
Using Roon Server you don't need a Core installation on a seperate machine. All you need with it is a control point e.g. a nice Apple iPad AIR or Pro. You'll install AIR on the Roon Server machine, it'll present itself as a soundcard/output speakers.

Unfortunately AIR isn't very stable for all users. WiFi worsens the issues. Plenty of topics on the forum discussing that and Devialet's lack of fitting action.
