Interesting. Roon is working hard on the Linux port now and I wonder if we can integrate Deezer and TuneIn soon.
Try Roon and love it
But I'm worry about my signal path - is this correct?
I think I need core audio exclusive mode in there for optimum quality - but I only see os x mixer in the end of chain
How may I fix it?
I use iMac connected via USB to Devialet 400
Settings attached
This happened on all file formats - from wav to dsd
Thanks

UPD

Solved -
Before I switch off Devialet Air in Mac OS panel, but it still exists on Roon setting
Now I disable Air in Roon Settings and Exlusive Mode works fine

(Sorry, I at least fought the urge to say anything further)

Ok, edited to say didn't realise that post was last year, but since kjj11s question has re-ignited the Roon thread - for those that don't follow the Roon forums there's a fairly big update coming 'soon'. No one knows when exactly, but Roon 1.2 is expected in the next weeks or month as its various bits are in alpha/beta testing from what I understand.

I'm sure there are a few surprises but it's anticipated that 1.2 will bring some key features including:
-Linux RoonServer
-RoonBridge (aka the DIY version of RAAT, formerly known as RoonSpeakers)
-Roon's audio path completely overhauled to use RAAT throughout.
-Basic Radio streaming (url) functionality
-anecdotally, over 100 bug fixes/new features/UI enhancements.

There's also an iPhone (and possibly other phone) remote coming, but it's unclear if it will be in 1.2

Advanced up/re-sampling, convolver (room correction), and AU/VST plugins all now sound fully on the roadmap, but unlikely in 1.2.

Anyone picked up any other useful key bits I've missed?

The latest Devialet-specific update was.... Nothing. As far as I'm aware they still haven't had enough cooperation from Devialet to allow them to get hardware or assistance, in order to fix any specific AiR/USB connection/exclusive mode type issues.
Very nice summary of Roon 1.2. Looks like it will turn out to be a very nice release. I would not give up on Devialet just yet.
I think I heard that some form of internet radio would also be in Roon 1.2 although not the full solution planned (whatever that may me).

Hey, while some may criticize Roon for being a bit pricey, I am so impressed with how they are supporting and evolving this product.  A game changer indeed.

It felt expensive when I first contemplated it. Now as a lifetime subscriber, and having used it for a while, it's probably one of the best buys I've made - if it keeps going even just a few years (unlikely but you never know) I still think it would have been a good buy. If it evolves for many years, it might just be the best value software I've bought. To some hifi people, a lifetime subscription is barely the cost of a plug on a mains lead....
or for the price of one puck. Big Grin
2016 should be, and hopefully will be the year that Roon gains some real traction. RAAT & RoonBridge are going to make it relatively very easy to get Roon on a lot of setups. Manufacturers such as Devialet, Melco, Aurender and even Naim, will not be able to ignore it forever. There will also be an increase in the number of Roon Ready appliances ranging from minute endpoints (eg. Raspberry Pi) and purpose built interfaces (Sonore) to full blown server appliances.

With a vested interest in Roon as a lifer, I hope they really achieve their aim as becoming the go-to music management de-facto standard. I reckon they stand a very good chance, people just need to see past the apparent high subscription, which in the context of overall spend on one's system is actually pretty small. But well worth it for the increased enjoyment of music.
I used to have all in iTunes and must say that Roon looks nice and there is a plus in combining all metadata, but for the content you still need subscriptions right? Tidal hifi? and in the future maybe Deezer if you like the Classical?

For me Roon could be the perfect platform if they also had a bit perfect solution for Mac / Expert and probably more integrations with music servers... is there any information on their roadmap?

Xander, you only need subscription for content if you want to use Tidal, otherwise it works with your local library - which is how man y use it. Personally I think it's far better with Tiday as its a really good integration, but just depends how you like to roll…..

The bit-perfect Mac/Expert solution is there now via USB. If you want to use it via AIR (jn exclusive mode) or you want native 'RoonReady' in your Devialet, the best thing you can do is email customer support at Devialet, and probably post on their Facebook page too. Roon are gagging to provide both, but only Devialet can allow it to happen.

As far as I know there are no plans announced for more music services, although we all hope that this changes soon. I would love Qobuz, but again, it appears Qobuz themselves are the stumbling block there as Roon (apparently) have very specific criteria for integrating something into their product well, and so far only Tidal have allowed it. I've never heard any others discussed.
