That would be really embarrassing - even for Devialet.
Announcing and canceling two deadlines in a row that were both communicated so widely, publicly.
Guess they will somehow keep the deadline "alive" even though they are not ready by just posting another "info update"

Could you be more specific?
You showed here the brand new pro with WiFi antenna and now new update for the date?
Who are you? Wink
I‘ m in the scene about 35 years. Knowing much products and some people behind them. Phono is my speciality. Expert series is my love since I have heard 1st time in 2013. I‘m just a customer of Devialet with a good network.

7th or 11th, frankly, what difference does it make?

Cheers,
Bernard

The 11th will be 3 1/2 weeks later than originally advised by Devialet.

The 11th would seem funny having it on a Saturday, and also on Remembrance day.
I am in conversation with CEO of Devialet who says Update very soon ahead: https://twitter.com/quentinsannie/status...8681821184

Appreciate the info, but still don't understand why Devialet are only drip feeding part info.

It gives the impression (to me at least) that they're still not 100% sure of all the functionality, and that they're possibly having problems with the software (understand software isn't a 2 minute job to get right).

Would be nice to believe Devialet have their finger on the pulse, but past experience(s) doesn't give some of us owners much encouragement.

Seems crazy that people are currently being sold new Experts with Core Board installed, but have little of it's functionality due to no new software being available (as yet).

Thanks
John

I think absolutely the same way. That's why I also responded on Twitter that I do hope that the software is ready. Don't know why (because they have the prototype available for many months now) but it seems they still are not ready with the software - and obviously have many, many problems. As you were mentioning the software is just the base and it is vital what the software is doing.
It could very well be that they have temperature problems with the new board. The expert is quite densely packed. To imagine that Devialet basically adds a Dialog into the expert pro with very little temperature headroom and passive cooling only is quite a challenge. The Dialog on its own gets quite hot. And of course the software is the tool that needs to actively manage the temperature by lowering computational speed when not necessary or even turn off parts of the circuit when not immediately in use. This has then little to do with skills of SW engineers, but is much more a challenge for everyone, starting with selection of functions and features that can run in parallel or need to be removed at all like e.g. Dante protocol chip. Only speculating here, but such things are often reasons for delivery delays.

Good call, maybe that has only became apparent after extensive use
