Some variation in the wording of that paragraph. It looks like someone is coming to town.

We will begin installing your Core Infinity boards as a priority over the coming days and continue through to late December. We’ll keep you posted as soon as our technicians reach your country to organize your personal Expert Pro Core Infinity set-up. You will then be able to choose from the 2.1 Release candidate and 2.2 Beta versions or wait for our stable release. It goes without saying that any physical removal of your Expert Pro system will remain on a needs-only basis.

Agreed.  I had heard the same - that the CI board install would be handled in your country and not necessarily shipped back to Paris.  That's very good news.

But the other side this this statement is that they will start these installs *BEFORE* the software platform is production ready.    While it is not clearly stated, it sounds very much like those that do will then be part of their beta program.  Does "waiting for stable release" mean that nothing will work or that all will work fine - just without the new functionality?

Although a bit concerned about the potential loss of musicality which could result from the upgrade, as I was very happy with the tonality of my D900, I am sending my machine back to Paris today for upgrade.

I would like to underline that I am a really happy customer of Devialet, in part because I found ways to feed my machine with a close to perfect source via AES/EBU, following the steps of Antoine. This has allowed me to wait for the new developments with a great serenity.

I would also like to underline that Devialet's customer support is very friendly and efficient. I particularly appreciate the help provided by Océane who is a lovely and helpful lady.

To those who are constantly unhappy about Devialet, I would seriously suggest to work on raising their serotonin level, and stop complaining when they did not get their shot of dopamine with the latest toy/upgrade. +1

Love my Devialet, Oceane is charming and helpful, I also appreciate complex hardware and software that has to compatible with third party platforms doesn't get done overnight. My hormones are fine, thanks for asking.

It also means that people who don't use the current streaming card (usb, RCA and optical inputs only for me) have the hardware for when the software up and running.
I'm not eager to be a beta / alpha tester for an unfinished product.

Especially if it involves the inconvenience of shipping the box to get it installed.

I'll let others live on the bleeding edge and help Devialet fix all the bugs in Core Insanity.

I have yet to manage to surpass the sound quality of my D440 Pro even with gear that cost £20K+. When a company like Devialet can make hardware like this in the first place then why all the mistrust. I shall give them a pass on the software, but you can't fault the hardware.

I understand what you're saying, and applaud your enthusiasm, but without working software the new Core Infinity board -- and the rest of the Expert series amps, for that matter -- are just very expensive paperweights.  Software is an entirely integral part of Devialet's products, and they will have to learn how to plan and manage software development properly if they are to survive in their chosen market(s).  Part of that process is to under-commit and over-deliver: more savvy/mature audio technology companies, such as Roon and Sonos to name a couple I'm aware of, have already learned that lesson which is why they very rarely commit to supporting specific features let alone within concrete timescales.

Reading SwissBear's post, a guy who seems to be one of the most considered and balanced contributors here, encouraged me not to post my displeasure at Devialet's news. Even though I still have it a little.

The Lustig YouTube is certainly an interesting video - maybe those who are in the UK news for their involvement in the Paradise Papers or in the Parliamentary Pleasureseeekers should watch it too.
I can accept that some of the software will take several iterations to get full functionality but I am not so sure that that board i.e. the hardware is working as planned (at least Quentin's statement does not give me a lot of confidence). There could be computational requirements which can be not met or thermal management problems.
I hope that all present functions will work at least as well as now.

(07-Nov-2017, 17:51)markush Wrote: [ -> ]Well this is quite lame to say they didn't know about highly demanded features like ROON RAAT, room correction or other ones that are named for a very long time of users.
Anyway please raise your voice here: https://help.devialet.com/hc/en-us/artic...tober-20th
This is especially for Expert Pro / Core Infinity communication!

According to Océane (Devialet support) they have only 4 customers asking for Roon RAAT at the moment. Below is a direct quote from a message that I got from her today.

If you would like the Core Infinity board being Roon Ready - Please contact Devialet by using the official channels mentioned below.

Quote:Dear Petri,

With Sebastien we created specific contact reasons to record how many persons ask for a specific feature on the Core/Expert. I am adding this ticket to Roon RAAT requests. I have 4 demands at the moment. Anybody contacting us by email, chat, phone, facebook and ask for a specific feature will be recorded. And I can on the fly extract the numbers for the executive team here !

Well I've just submitted a request for this, are they not counting the posters on the log? I also can't believe they don't take notice of the survey on here!
