Trust me - the situation has been like this for years. Today I checked all my messages with Devialet support and apparently my problems with AIR started on August 2015. My email box has a bit over 400 emails with Devialet support, my dealer, and Roon fellows concerning only these AIR problems... Devialet has tried numerous different fixes to AIR without any luck so far. The Roon/AIR integration is best what they have been able to do so far but it's not good enough yet.

I trust you, but 400 emails to support? They must love you.
I got my unit in December 2016. I found Air worked with 16/44 and fell over after that.
I emailed support and they sent me a set-up guide, maybe 2 or 3 emails, didn't help and left it at that.
I read on here that it was a bit manky, so just kept using my Aries streamer.
I assumed the Air problem was more to do with it being fairly old hardware.
Ever the optimist, I assume with a new hardware platform they will get it to work, but they may prove me wrong and the Aries will remain.

This place really should be called devialetglasshalfemptychat.com

I did have Roon on trial for a couple of days. It was good for a laugh, in that I selected a piece of classical music, I forget what, and then it suggested I would like to listen to Showaddywaddy or something grossly inappropriate. Then I realised I needed Tidal and that was the end of that. Roon gave me lots of useless information, but what I really wanted - the booklet and sleeve notes you get with the album - was not there. You get it with Qobuz and you can also download to read offline.

-- Roon users are frustrated because Devialet never fully fixed AIR and has never been willing to state whether they will implement RAAT now or in the future.

-- We all are frustrated because for over a year, Devialet remained relatively quiet as to what, exactly, the new CI board and OS will bring.  Eventually, they said to wait until October 17.

-- We all are frustrated because when Oct 17 arrived, we were told to wait until Nov 7 -- still without any additional information as to what to expect.

Personally, I have no problem with missed deadlines - shit happens.  My frustration is simply that Devialet does not communicate which leaves us surmising and second guessing.  Much of the debate in these threads is now about what "WE" think their priorities should be.  That's crazy!  Devialet has not asked us for our opinions and best I can tell, they're not listening.

What I want most is a CI board and OS that works as intended.  I do believe its primary purpose is to serve as the basis for future features and functionality of the Expert Pro line.   It's Devialet's job to decide what that will be.  We keep deluding ourselves into thinking we have (or should have) input to their design processes.  I do not believe that Devialet's current corporate culture provides for that.  At least, I see no evidence for such.  That's certainly not unique to them.  What we hope is that they're smart enough to meet and exceed our expectations.  We don't want to be disappointed.  We love our Experts!   But reality being what it is, if they don't or can't, we'll move on.

What is important (yet I fear not likely to occur) is for Devialet to adopt a more open and communicative style of interacting with their customers.   Quentin's letter was clearly a big step in that direction - albeit a bit late.  But as many questions as it answered, it opened the door for many more - hence the fierce discussion going on here.

My goal now is to set my keyboard aside, give Devialet time to sort out these problems, and just listen to the music.

+1 to that, I think.

What I really, really want, is for the police to announce no charges are to be made against Ben Stokes and he can go to Australia. As you are American you probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about and why on earth would anyone want to go to Australia anyway, but then I barely understand anything anyone posts here myself.

Sounds like a plan. I definitely need to do a similar kind of backup plan.
I am one of the first d Premier owners back in 2011 all upgraded to 250 Pro. Despite some early bugs Air has been working delightfully for me. Key seems to reside essentially in a solid Wi-Fi and Ethernet network, close to 200Mbps in my case. FWIW

I've not tried since sky rewired my house. I have a Asus access point (the good £90 one) hardwired from my modem that gives me 80mbs and the Asus is within inches of the Devialet. If that doesn't work, nothing will. Off to the configurateur later to change the wifi settings.

Depending on the result, I might be slightly less of an optimist than I am now ....

You've just proven (to me) what I thought of you is correct

Only joking!! Was discussing the Stokes scenario with a good friend on the way back from the theatre the other day, he is an MCC member and is coming over for three Test, I'm very jealous and the wife felt slightly guilty. We were reminiscing about Captain Cook knocking you lot around the WACA a while back. 500+ runs and you only got him once. Unfortunately we think ex-stokes tips it in your favour.

Meanwhile, reset my wifi config and Air is working fine on wifi up to 24/96, on ethernet to 24/192.  No pops or clicks. Only issue is that streaming DSD64 from my highresaudio via Audirvana+ comes up as 24/192.
Just received an invitation to send my 1000 Pro to Paris. Not sure about it TBH because of Quentin's email, but the offer seemed to be time limited until November 15th. When I upgraded from 800 to 1000 Pro, the packaging was all cardboard, now they seem to have a protective crate. I ordered one in any case.
I got that invitation as well, and was puzzled by the "protective crate" option. I did not choose it, as my cardboard box is pretty fresh from the 1000 Pro upgrade, but I was wondering what that was.
Devialet told me that if you have the cardboard box and all the interior packaging, you do not need the crate.
