This is a sad statement from Devialet....not sure why I should send my 1000 to France
Well, it might be a bit late but that is at least a clear and seemingly honest update. I take it as positive that the Roon team are still doing something so maybe RAAT won’t be too far away or maybe some improvement to Roon AIR.

What a shock! ;-) Seriously, I applaud Devialet for being upfront about the problems and delays. They need to get it right. But personally, I'm not too interested in sending my system in for the upgrade until I know for certain it's all working well. It seems that they still have a good ways to go.

Of course, that's still not the same as communicating exactly what we hope to benefit from the Core Infinity board and new OS. I guess if you're into Spotify, AirPlay or UPnP, it'll be something to look forward to. Personally, I don't yet see much of anything to get excited about. (Clearly I must be doing something wrong). I will be content as long as they can continue to make Roon AIR work well, but sadly disappointed if Roon RAAT is not on their roadmap.
https://help.devialet.com/hc/en-us/artic...y-Software is now the possibility for an open dialogue with Quentin - I do think he will realize the importance of Roon RAAT and room correction which has been demanded for so long within our community.
As far as I see - it will take till end of December until even the basic things are fixed (upnp, spotify, airplay) - hope to see things now really evolving quickly.
I hope that there are only software issues with the infinity core board! One reason AIR had so much trouble with WiFi is its internal antenna for the present board and all the software attempts were not so successful. So can we be sure that the hardware design and all the processors etc. of the core are not limiting factors for the functionality of next and future software versions.
I still have a basic question - what is it (beyond Spotify and airplay) that I can do with this streamer board? I bought a 1000 a year ago - that is a long time ago in terms of telling me what it includes. We have had all these games (you’re gonna be so excited and the infamous dots ...) and now they don’t have Spotify and 192h under control? Yikes!

Indeed. This part of M Sannié's letter makes me a bit doubtful that it's all "just" software delays, though:

Quote:Our new hardware support and the system foundations have been fully tested and approved. However, the update mechanism has revealed certain weaknesses that we are in the process of correcting. This is vital to our product integrity, and we are now in the final stages of performing checks.

That read to me as though there are still possibly some hardware problems, or at least very low-level software problems that can't be fixed by a later in-the-field update.

Don't forget UPnP  Undecided
My fear is that those with new Pros with the CI board already fitted, or OdA upgraders, are going to lose functionality or suffer unacceptable bugs over non CI-equipped units for a while. It seems odd Devialet are accepting upgrades (CI installations) now, when it doesn't appear to all be functioning satisfactorily yet.

My concern exactly.   I doubt I'm the only one that fears the worst in sending in my system for the CI board before they have a fully function and successfully tested software platform.   Hopefully, it would continue to work as fully functional as it currently does, but nothing in Quentin's letter really helped my confidence in that.
