Anything seems logical at this point.
Ok, so there it is then, there was no practical point to subscribing to the mailing list. At least we know.
Sounds like the smartest move is to buy the cheapest machine you can find used at a dealers, and upgrade it. 120 would be a good bet, or a companion.
Well, my D800 will be with Oxford Audio soon. It is a lovely thing, I have never had any issues with it. Could form a good deal for someone?

What did you expect asking a dealer?
Don´t bite the hand that feeds you ;-)
But the dealers dont benefit from us upgrading as the payment goes directly to Devialet as I understand. If my dealer were correct they got 100€ from Devialet if they took care of the shipping of the units from there customers.
They benefit from selling the pro line in general.
Plus, the more people that have 220pros and 250pros, the more people that can upgrade with a new pro companion.
You are correct on that but they dont benefit from me upgrading a 400 to 440 so when my dealer gets his 220 he has no profit in just telling me how great it is so to say just to convince me to upgrade.
Ofcourse they want to spread the word how great it is.....I have never heard a dealer talking bad about a brand they sell.

You're not upgrading it?
No. I decided that I liked the 1000 Pro so much that I thought I would get a nice new one. A slightly bonkers thing to do I know, but I am happy with the decision.

Were your cases damaged or anything? If not - crazy man!!
Well, at least you won't have to wait in line or have silence for 15-20 days...

No, cases are perfect. It is a simple case of enthusiastic craziness. Joking apart, if anyone is after a D800 I can vouch that they would be a good buy. Exclusive too, an ex Confused D800 is rarer than an Od'A.
