With the French summer vacation coming up in July, I'm thinking somewhere mid September for this announcement.
Hi guys,

I contacted DEVIALET after signing in for the update program, asking for more details. I received today an answer (in French) stating that DEVIALET will soon communicate on the evolution of the Expert line... so we have to wait a little bit more Wink

Still, here's a list of new developments and improvements for the new program:
  • 5 new patents
  • New ADH Intelligence
  • New Class A amplifier
  • New Class D amplifier
  • New power unit
  • New thermal control unit
  • THD < 0.00025% (stereo)
  • Improved SNR by 2.5 dB
  • Twice as fast transient response
  • Twice as efficient thermal management
Let's wait a few more days !

Best regards,

Arnaud
That seems to be a more comprehensive revision of the core of the amplifier than the one we saw at the introduction of the 110/170/240.

I see no mention of a base DAC change (which was rumoured earlier) but that could be part of this 'new ADH intelligence' (with some imagination as this could mean anything).

Also nothing on this rumoured new streaming board.

We'll know soon enough as it seems. Thanks for sharing Arnaud!
Thanks, Arnaud.

Finally, some information from the horse's mouth.
I also got the same answer but in English and they say more information very soon within the next couple of days but who knows what that means.......to me this looks almost like a complete new amplifier in the old chassi. The price for this upgrade is without a doubt the biggest question right now and of course the lack of information on the streamerboard.

Quote:Dear Fredrik,

Thank you for your message and your interest in this major evolution  in our line of products.

In the meantime, please find below the first informations about new developments and improvements you will find in this new upgrade program :
  • 5 new patents
  • New ADH Intelligence
  • New Class A Voltage Amplifier
  • New Class D Current Amplifier
  • New Power Supply
  • New Thermal Management
  • THD + noise (stereo) < 0,00025%
  • SNR improved by 2.5 dB
  • ADH loop precision multiplied by 4
  • Transient response 2x faster
  • Thermal Management 2x more efficient
Once again, Devialet will communicate within the next days to provide more informations about it.

Just what I was thinking, everything but the box and the streamer board seems to have changed!  It does sound an expensive upgrade.

I'm puzzled by the ZERO at the top of the sign up page, I can only assume they have run out of TLA and have had to upgrade to FLA.

This sounds like the new stereo versions now match the current dual mono's.
I wonder how much of these things is from the L’original d’atelier, I suppose much of it is.

THD + noise (stereo) < 0,00025% that is the same number that the current 400 and 800 dual-mono has so one can only wonder what the numbers will be on the new mono amps.
These improvements seems to be the same as oda's. May be the oda technology trickled down, except for the case?

I've been wondering for a while if the O D'a was going to be the last hurrah for the original casework and they would consolidate on one case at the next refresh. They strike me as the sort of company that would like to maintain a tight inventory and manage margins, plus if they can indeed improve the thermal side of the new 200 enough to match the existing 250 they probably don't see the need for the 250 and possibly the 800! If this happens quite what happens to upgraded 250, 800 and 900 would be interesting, my guess is they all jump ahead of where they are now, but maintaining the pecking order. That sounds like their old upgraded units might exceed there new flagship, which sounds wrong.
New 1000 will sound better than the OdA but then again OdA will be upgraded too. So, OdA will be at the top (with 1000 supposedly) but will have the limited edition chassis.
