You are right that shipping may end up being a better option, but it isn't convenient.

Whos in general does the upgrades? Devialet in France or the distributor?

Normally the local distributor. If there is none then Devialet I believe.

Bernard

I think all upgrades and repairs are done by Devialet in Paris, but I can be wrong.
It was not the case last time in Japan for sure, I don't know how it was done in countries closer to France nor what the plan is this time.

Bernard

Ok, perhaps we in Europe have to ship it to France I dont think the distributor in Sweden does any repairs or upgrades.
Hello All,
Did I miss something or have we manufactured an upgrade that Devailet hasn't announced?  Are the  more recent references to a D1000 simple conjecture or has someone heard some verifiable news?  Sounds like everyone is pulling out their shipping boxes already in preparation for the change
Is there a link or news item discussing an upgrade or is this just website chatter?
Cheers,
WDW

This was discovered lurking on the dark web ........

Yes, but as far as I can see that's completely vague about almost every aspect of what the upgrade entails. I must say I have also been mystified by references to a "D1000" - is there any concrete information behind that or have we collectively convinced ourselves of its existence out of thin air?
Devialet's factory (actually Seprolec in Vire, France) did the D-Premier upgrades (I had to print the UPS label on the box) for at least the European customers. I almost can't imagine distributors doing it themselves, it's a complete rebuild of the device. But of course local factories/electronics specialists could have been appointed.

Well, now I'm Confused!  ;-)
It all seems so clandestine...a link on their web site but not posted for all to see and the page is up before the upgrade is announced....there is a certain originality to their business model !
Thanks for the link,
wdw
Don't be 'Confused'. Devialet are working feverishly on an announcement, which will be available soon.
