I agreed with Damon. We are deviating too far from the topic of new product launch. And, we are debating why Devialet doing what they did prior to a new announcement (which I'm truly looking forward to) and worst, complaining that Devialet is not fixng AIR. May I suggest that we just let it go, please. I'm sure all of us have our own preferred music preferences and how we connect our music sources to our beloved Devialet. I said beloved because you are still owning it, otherwise you would have sold it by now and never visit this forum anymore.

So, please make some good guesses and see how many of us got it right of what's goodies that Devialet will be introducing to us in a matter of time. And, I really hope there will be something for all of us.

Let me start:
1. AIR 3 which will work on Win10 and will not cause BSOD and white noises.
2. New upgrade and/or addon options for all Expert systems.
3. Increase our Expert power rating: Le120 to Le150, Le200 to Le250, Le400 to Le500 and Le800 to Le1000.

Peace, everyone and let's enjoy our music.
A power increase would be very welcome, but it just occurred to me - I wonder if a headline power increase would/could be dependent on DPM being set on?
My guess is we should know what devialet will pull out from the hat within 36hrs. I doubt it will be AIR 3 or Roon. Just to set my expectations straight. Let them surprise us.. I am going to have a drink and wait for the news[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH] cheers !
Some great posts here and in true DC style we are able to say what we think without the conversation deteriorating into vitriol and personal attacks.  Smile

A few points:

1) Devialet engineers have definitely been busy since there is a big announcement imminent... The frustrating thing for us is that no one knows what it is yet!

2) I would argue that the company is still engineering-led, by the simple virtue that it employs more engineers (almost 50?) than any other high end audio company. It is where their efforts have been focussed which is possibly a source of frustration for many, but until we know more about what this announcement is we can't really say!

3) I have said this before a few times: it is precisely because of a failure of marketing and communications that many Devialet owners feel frustrated. Sure marketing won't solve AIR but communicating on progress, challenges faced etc most certainly will help.  There is a lack of joined up thinking when it comes to how Devialet interacts with its customers. Devialet badly need a centralised, top down strategy for engaging with existing customers.

4) I do think Paul's post was unfortunate. Right in the middle of a discussion about Devialet's new announcement he drops dozens of pictures of a high end jolly for dealers. Inappropriate to say the least! Any conversation about new products is always going to be sensitive when AIR remains unfixed. Gloating over foie gras at Versailles just takes the biscuit!  Rolleyes

5) Aside issues with AIR and Spark I think it is fair to say that most of us on here still think Devialet makes exceptional products. I, for one, couldn't be any happier with my OdA, and if this is a sign of things to come we all have a lot to be positive about. It is a remarkable product and I sincerely hope that the new class D board etc can be trickled down.

Love and peace to everyone!  Smile

Thank you Guillame, as usual, very well put.

I, for one, am very well pleased with my D400. I, personally, have had no issues with AIR, but as that is not my primary listening source it causes me no problems, but on the occasion I have used it, it has worked fine for me. I know that others have not been as lucky and I can understand their frustration at Devialet's seeming lack of interest in solving it Angry!

My main issue with Devialet was when they changed their dealership "model", but that is a different story. So lets move on from big lavish dealership "jollies" and look forward to new products, but more importantly to me, news of potential upgrade paths for existing Expert Line models + a really terrific Firmware upgrade to further improve, what is already a fantastic SQ + a lasting solution to AIR Smile.

I think the announcement will be some sort of extension to the Phantom ecosystem. My guess is a mini/smaller phantom (I need one for the kitchen).
I agree with the mini Phantom guess because that would allow the surround sound (5.0) Devialet has promised without buying 5 Phantoms, and also get closer to the "Devialet for everyone" goal they have by making their awesome technology available in a smaller and cheaper enclosure.

I bet we'll see some support of the Expert line, given that they have hardware they could trickle down and power updates they intend to make. I hope for the Class-D and power board improvements to be made available to older Expert models, but I'm confident that the O'dA will be pumped up to 1000W. Of course, that might distract from the new product so might come later.
I would welcome an upgrade on the DAC section of the devialet. Maybe replacing the Texas Instrument with a more modern chipset, i.e. AK 4490 or something similar. This will further future-proof the current line
While nice and possible a change of the DAC section would require the entire mainboard of the Devialet to be replaced. Based on the D-Premier upgrades I'm estimating this would cost us >€3000,-.

What is the problem with the current DAC?
