If their next step is to replace major parts of the internal for a premium price, it is not aligned with my expectations for the expert line. When buying the D-Premier, the story was (the way I read it) that there would be software/ firmware improvements on top of that as a platform. Then the upgrade to 250 was offered (which I bought into) as a needed DSP upgrade for handling coming software/ firmware changes. The few that has been has been of limited value to me, the ones mentioned semi-officially such as room correction has never materialized.

I do not mind that they improve their hardwire line, but they might benefit of being mindful of their previous customers and their previous marketing pitches. If they try the same story once more, then good luck. You can fool half of the people half of the time...

In any case, I am still very happy with the 250, but I think I'll leave it at that.
The Devialet's claim/slogan is always quite exaggerated like the Phantom campaign but number is number - THD of the new stereo / upgraded one will be not more than 0.00025% - same as the current D400/D800 monos.

Two questions - a. what if our member hasn't googled using 'devialet upgrade'? Will it be announced in September? Quite mysterious;
b. will there be a new phono module for further lowering the background hiss during vinyl playback? If yes, it will be the top notch phono amp.
OdA specs: http://devialetchat.com/attachment.php?aid=822 so these are very similar/equal.

With OdA Devialet spoke of a tuned/optimized class A stage, here they talk about a new one. Could be marketing messing up real world facts of course or they took the OdA design further. Fact is that up to now the THD specs have been 4x lower for dual mono so if these really are the figures for a single device in stereo mode?

Not that these specs matter really much anyway. I believe they're either theoretical and/or based on the spec sheets of e.g. the DAC IC makers.
More OdA design details, can't find an English version unfortunately: http://www.easylounge-store.com/devialet...en-magasin

I fully agree and posted very similar sentiments earlier.
I am confused. Does this mean we all have to send our Experts back to France to get updated; or do we turn them in and get brand new ones? Mine just got back from France after they fixed the broken LED display. Kudos to Devialet for outstanding customer service. In addition to the free repair and shipment, they repolished and covered my Expert with new protective plastic film. It looks brand new again! They also updated the firmware to 9.0.2, which sounds surprisingly close to my favorite FW version of 7.1.3. Happy listening to all!
I'm guessing the upgrade procedure will be similar to the D-Premier->240 upgrade (send it back, receive it back with upgraded parts etc.). Details here: http://en.devialet.com/upgrade-d-premier-en/
Upgrade will be charged and optional.

That would be quite odd for someone living in, say, Australia just received his O'dA and then sends it back again to France after a few weeks for such an upgrade which might even cost you extra money not to mention the time spent on it.

Having produced the Od'A and now announced the 1000, the only logic is to make the technical innards and sound quality exactly the same, which sounds like it will require some changes to the Od'A. Anything else is not defensible.

I can't imagine that, within 5 months, the entire innards of the Od'A will need to be replaced - whereas, after 3(?) years, I could envisage that with the 800.

My memory suggests that Devialet's published specifications for the Od'A were just the same as for the 800. Maybe with the 1000 there will be some adjustments to drive the marketing message. But since I cannot correlate the level of specification change with the degree of sonic change, it's all pretty irrelevant to me, save that I wouldn't want to see any measurements get worse!
