Is there something wrong in the mail? I think a 120 will be upgraded to 130pro, 200 to 220pro.
(25-Jul-2016, 20:05)kerkhoffd Wrote: [ -> ]Just received the same email, and must say I am pretty disappointed as a D200 owner since december 2015. Not that there is an upgrade, but that there is no price differentiation between D120 and D200 upgrades to D220 Pro. For this money I could also upgrade to a D400.

I think they have got the pricing structure wrong for 200 owners. I've said before that I don't think their marketing team is that great and this demonstrates it yet again.

Devialet is sending out emails with prices and new specs now:

THE 400 BECOMES THE
EXPERT 440 PRO
2x 440W
Upgrade Price: 5990 euros

THE 800 BECOMES THE
EXPERT 1000 PRO
2x 1000W
Upgrade Price: 5990 euros

Cheers,

Is this correct? The UK prices are £4,490 and £4,990 so I would have thought the 400 to 440 Pro would be, perhaps, 5,490 euros at most?

This has been leaked before so I don't think it's a mistake, it's Devialet logic and probably a business driven decision to attract more 120 owners for the upgrade. They must think you stupid 200 owners will upgrade anyway. Wink

Not according to my e-mail, both 400 and 800 upgrade (to 440 and 1000) are £4490.

Which now means it will cost me £5980 to hold onto my two D250 masters, or £4490 to go master/companion. No choice really, I'll be hanging on to the spare remote though!

Worst yet now if you were to sell, you get 120 used pricing for a 200.  Or does the 120 used price now go up a little, I hope.  Sigh!!

I would have thought D200 residual prices would be dependant on the price of the new 220 Pro, which I don't think has been announced yet.

Another thought I had was that anyone looking for the cheapest entry point to Expert ownership would be looking for a D120.  If all these are being snapped up for 220 upgrades (at the expense of new sales), the supply side of the second hand market will start to dry up.  Supply and demand!  I would expect D200 residuals to be pretty stable, assuming the new 220 Pro isn't super cheap?
I've just had another thought!  (I'm on fire tonight).  I'd much rather have a D400 than a 220 Pro, so in theory, D200 second hand prices should always be somewhat higher than the 220 Pro upgrade price.

If I'm wrong, and somehow D200 prices plummet, buy one and go D400. Shy  It's happy days all 'round!
Those prices are way above the level I'm going to jump at, unless a demo pushes the 'must have now' button in my head.

Anyone know anything about the promised 'advantageous conditions' for those of us on the first 200 mailing list?

Agree, these are not accommodation prices for existing customers.

This makes the upgrade program a terrible deal for the dealers.  Presumably lots of Devialet owners will want auditions of the Pro, but will upgrade and not buy new.  Plus potential new Devialet buyers will audition at Dealers, but buy second hand and upgrade.  So the dealers will be busy facilitating demos for sod all in return.  It's not often I feel sorry for the dealers, but it strikes me that they'll get most of the hassle and Devialet most of the profit?
